Hi Lynne

A big welcome to the site !

I started on leflunomide about 8 weeks ago together with hydroxychloroquine about a month earlier. I have managed to come down to 2.5/5mg steroids alternate days now but have just started diclofenac as I gather the lef. hasn t fully kicked in yet. I can t be certain if this was the reason, but when I first started it I had flu like symptoms so now take it just before I go to bed and seemed to do the trick. Hope this has helped you a little.

Love Julia x

Hi

I have been on Leflunomide for about 3 years with very little problem, MTX didn't suit me and originally l was on MTX with Sulphasalazine, then Leflunomide and Sulphasalazine and now more recently only leflunomide. I really cant remember but l do think that l felt a bit sick when l first took it but nil else to speak of.

It has been a good drug for me but as with all things RA, we are all different and react differently to the drugs prescribed.

I do hope you find Leflunomide works for you.

I couldn't get on with Mtx, sulpha. and was eventually changed to Leflunomide...............and haven't really had any problems.

I did lose my appetite (and a LOT of weight !!!!)initially, as it CAN lessen the desire to stuff your face with goodies. I have found it ok, though they have added Plaquenil today as its not as effective now as it was when I started almost three years ago......but that's probably because of other health problems clouding the issue! Good luck, do hope you find it helps!! Lxx
